My journey began not high in the air, but on the ground in Costa Rica, fueled by a deep passion for movement and a spark of creative ambition. For over a decade, I’ve navigated the exhilarating world of aerial arts, not just as a performer defying gravity, but as a director crafting narratives in the sky. This path has taken me far beyond the silks and hoops, across continents, and into an endless exploration of what it truly means to express through movement.
From the very beginning, organizing and directing dozens of shows in my home country was where my artistic vision took flight. There, I learned the intricate dance of bringing concepts to life, coordinating talent, and managing every detail—a foundational experience that prepared me for the international stages to come. Costa Rica shaped my earliest understanding of performance as a holistic endeavor, where every element, from lighting to emotion, plays a crucial role.
“This trip across global stages has been more than a pursuit of technical mastery. It has been a transformation from a performer into a director and mentor, learning that the true art of the air lies in the ability to translate raw human emotion into a breathtaking visual narrative, no matter where in the world the stage may be.”
My aerial odyssey then carried me across the globe, each new country adding a unique layer to my craft. In Ireland, I had the privilege of participating in the renowned Irish Aerial Dance Festival (IADF) in 2019. This two-week immersion was a crucible of learning, connecting with aerialists and instructors from every corner of the world, pushing the boundaries of what I thought was possible with my body and my art. It wasn’t just about mastering new tricks; it was about understanding different philosophies of movement and performance.

The Netherlands offered a different kind of challenge and grace with lessons in pole dance and lyra, while in Alaska, I delved deeper into the expressive side of aerials, not just as a student of silks, lyra, and trapeze, but as a teacher. It was there I had the opportunity to lead workshops on “The Art of Performing,” guiding others to breathe life into characters and transmit raw emotion from the stage. I also lent my experience to help direct a significant event for a local studio, solidifying my dual role as both performer and creative director.
A world without borders: The Evolution of My Creative Voice
My pursuit of excellence also led me to some of the most respected aerial institutions in the United States: Actors Gymnasium in Chicago and Emerald City Trapeze Arts in Seattle. These experiences were invaluable, refining my technique, broadening my repertoire, and exposing me to diverse teaching methodologies.
Today, after years of training, performing, and directing across various cultures, my creative vision is richer, more nuanced, and deeply interconnected. It’s a blend of raw Costa Rican passion, European elegance, American precision, and the universal language of human expression. My journey is proof that art knows no borders, and that the greatest stage is often the one we create for ourselves, wherever we may be.
